"As many of us in healthcare have seen lately, patient care doesn’t stop for pandemics, nor do our everyday responsibilities. In addition to all that was new to address COVID-19, it was imperative that our ongoing project to replace our coagulation platform stay on-track, as our current platform was at the end of life and failing. We had selected IL and their ACL TOP Family 50 Series Hemostasis Testing Systems as our new platform for 14 locations across our healthcare system, in addition to HemoCell Automation. Just as we were scheduled to begin the install and training, COVID-19 hit, and with that came new challenges and restrictions, drastically affecting “business as usual.”

While moving forward was essential, safety restrictions prevented our staff from travelling to IL headquarters for in-person training on the new systems. So instead of the typical training model, IL brought the training to us—a first outside of their facility. The two-week training program could not have been better. The trainers set up the many analyzer models they’d shipped, allowing our teams to work in small groups at a safe distance, in full PPE. They were knowledgeable, flexible, personable and committed. As a result of their extraordinary efforts and those of our staff, we are on track for our go-live date and our team is prepared. Thanks to IL and their adaptability, I have no doubt this conversion will be very successful."
