Overview

To maximise sales of Werfen’s haemostasis products by a marketing-led highly professional sales and support function to both current and potential customers.  This is to be achieved by the training of and assistance to the sales functions provided by the Area Account Managers along with specific individual responsibilities focussed on sales, marketing and support activities.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • In coordination with the Haemostasis Business Manager promote the development of and maintenance of KOL relationships.
  • Capable of presenting haemostasis products and concepts to NHS Trusts, end-user groups, consultant groups and expert meetings.
  • As directed by the Business Manager, completion of some whole or parts of haemostasis tenders. Specifically the Product Manager will take on the responsibility of completing the Technical Specification section of all tenders.
  • In conjunction with the haemostasis Sales Coordinator, complete any technical elements of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires or Selection Questionnaires.
  • The Product Manager will work with the Business Manager on the development of new marketing strategies for all haemostasis instruments and reagent products.
  • Responsibility to update and participate in the implementation of an induction training programme for newly recruited Area Account Managers and Application Specialists. The Product Manager will aid the Business Manager with the interviewing and selection process of new recruits.
  • Be responsible for overseeing successful resolution of “problematic” sites, sites which by the nature or duration of the reported problems are deemed to be very critical.
  • Assist the Business Manager in all new product launches.
  • As directed by the Business Manager, take on some or all of the responsibility for a Sales Area in the long term absence of the Area Account Manager.
  • Create, coordinate and continually update a competitor information database.  This database will contain information on equipment, reagents and methodologies.  Critical information should be immediately disseminated to the Business Manager and Area Account Managers.
  • Liaise with key market influencers including Centres of Excellence and the various UK External Quality Control bodies.
  • Perform site visits with UK Area Account Managers.  These visits will include pre-tender qualification and attendance at pre-tender meetings, also demo support and post demo follow up as required.
  • Receive, evaluate and disseminate all Product Information Notices (PINs) from SBU Marketing.
  • Act as the main contact for, and liaise with, regulatory bodies (MHRA, IMB etc.) in regard to Field Safety Notices.
  • Monitor instrument performance in EQA schemes by liaising with Haemostasis Application Specialists. The Product Manager should review the UK NEQAS exercises for information regarding trends and for possible problems with Werfen and competitor analysers/reagents.
  • Coordinate all complaints from customers, via Application Specialists. Follow up and ensure closure is passed to Haemostasis Business Manager within acceptable timeline.
  • Participate in International Marketing Meetings, as directed by the haemostasis Business Manager
  • Participate in International Marketing meetings as directed by the Haemostasis Business Manager, ensuring relevant feedback is provided to the haemostasis team.
  • Coordinate and feedback to SBU on all software upgrades on all haemostasis analysers.
  • Review scientific journals for relevant papers, articles and industry magazines for pertinent topics. All information should be appropriately distributed.
  • Responsibility for the coordination of development and promotion of Werfen reagent methodologies on competitor analysers.
  • Perform a pivotal role in the organisation of Haemostasis User Group Meetings and “Road Shows” for new products.
  • As directed by the Business Manager, liaises with complimentary equipment suppliers.  This should specifically include a working knowledge of all potential MES providers in the UK market.
  • Analyse and produce a quarterly report on market share and EDMA figures for the Haemostasis Business Manager.
  • Awareness of the Integrated Management System (covering Quality & information Security)

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position

  • Degree/studies
  • BSc or equivalent in Biomedical Science.  A minimum of 7 years NHS laboratory and/or Commercial Diagnostics company experience, preferably in haematology/haemostasis. A good working knowledge of laboratory equipment. Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • •     An ability and willingness to maintain close working relationships with the Business Manager and Area Account Managers.
