Werfen Ltd, as a key NHS supplier, has been monitoring very closely the potential consequences of a Hard Brexit scenario in terms of delays at the UK Border and the impact it would have on Customer deliveries. As a consequence, temporary measures have been taken during this period for example holding temporary stock in our premises in Warrington.

After several meetings with the Department of Health and in order to ensure that our customers are not impacted by any potential disruptions at the Border, Werfen Ltd has decided to invest in a new warehouse within our local headquarters (Warrington).

This new warehouse will include:

• A brand new refrigerated cold-room (2° to 8° degrees) with almost 500m³ of capacity.
• 4 levels of racking ensuring a capacity of 250 pallets.
• A temperature-controlled system to keep the ambient stock between 15° to 25° degrees
• A full SAP warehouse management automated system

All these improvements will ensure we have a local stock of 6 weeks capacity (as recommended by the Department of Health), with weekly replenishment from our main distribution centre. 

Together with this extra workload, Werfen Ltd is also investing and building up a new Supply Chain team with additional workforce to deal with a volume of 100/120 Delivery Notes per day
