About the Position

Position summary

The IT Ops System Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Werfen's IT solutions aimed at managing Clinical Laboratories, specifically the Laboratory Informatic System and the Advanced Data Analysis System based on BI technology. Among his/her functions are the configuration of the Laboratory Informatic System and, above all, the implementation and maintenance of the application architecture, as well as the different extra-laboratory interoperability systems, guaranteeing the client a high level of service.

The IT Ops System Specialist reports to the IT Ops Area Manager and he/she can assume the role of Project Manager within an implementation project or that of a reference for an installation or client.

 

Key responsibilities

The IT Ops System Specialist has the following main responsibilities:

• Implement the IT solutions, while ensuring compliance with the best practices in the assigned role including Project Manager when exercised

• Maintain an assertive communication with the customer and the team

• Provide remote and on-site technical, operational and application-related support to customers, assisting them with the integration of the IT solutions in their laboratories

• Analyse the processes associated with the Laboratory and promote improvements within the technological area and especially in the field of the application architecture as well as the different extra-laboratory interoperability systems

• Work closely with the IT Support teams and Product Specialist

• Report on the activity carried out, within the time frame set in the Style Guide

• Remain up-to-date on the various technology tools and products especially in the field of the application architecture as well as the different extra-laboratory interoperability systems

• The Project Manager/Project Leader is also responsible for the following:

o Plan and coordinate the project's tasks and actions, ensuring the performance of all the activities required to implement and maintain the system by regularly checking the status of the tasks and actions

o Detect and communicate to the customer any risks that could lead to deviations in the achievement of the set objectives

o Interact with the customer at all levels of project management to resolve independently any conflicts/problems

o Ensure that the project's relevant technical documentation is up-to-date and available to the entire team

• Ensure compliance with company regulations and Quality policies

• Ensure compliance with the Corporate Code of Ethics

 

Key internal relationships

They will be defined according to the department's needs, and they will include the following interactions:

• Fluid relationship with all the roles in the BU Healthcare IT Solutions, as well as with the IT Support team

• Effective communication with the development team for integration systems and equipment connection

• Fluid relationship with Area Managers, Key Account Managers and Sales Application Specialist, specially with Sales Aplication Specialist of HITS, at Werfen Spain and Portugal

 

Minimum knowledge and experience required for the position

 

Education:

• Bachelor's degree relative to Studies in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering or similar

• Mid-level vocational training in Microcomputer and Network Systems or in Operating IT Systems. High level vocational training in Administration of Networked IT Systems

 

The following will be valued:

Experience

• In IT projects within the scope of Clinical Laboratories and/or hospital environments

• In IT Project Management

 

Additional skills/knowledge

• Project Manager Professional Certification

• VMWare Administration Certification or experience with Virtual Machines

• Administration of Operating Systems or knowledge of and experience in the administration thereof

• Oracle Administration Certification or experience in Database Administration

• WildFly Administration Certification or experience with Applications Servers

• HL7 Administration or Certification or experience in Communications protocols

• Knowledge of interoperability platforms

• Knowledge of BI tools, particularly QlikView

 

Languages

• Fluent English is recommended

• Spanish and/or Portuguese
