About the Position

Job Summary

The position reports directly to the Werfen Iberia General Manager and will lead and manage his/her organization to achieve the strategic and operational objectives assigned to his /her area of responsibility, with all resources available.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assure the Compliance with Ethical Code.
  • Responsible for preparing, together with the GM, the annual budgets and its compliance.
  • Participate proactively in the definition and execution of the 3 Year Strategic Plan, with open mind, challenging and going beyond the current situation of his/her geographic area.
  • Responsible for achieving the expected Operating Income of the assigned area, implementing regular and systematic supervision, using the management tools of the Company, establishing corrective measures in case of detecting deviations regarding the established goals.
  • Responsible for the design, development and execution of the commercial strategy for the client group included in his/her area of responsibility.
  • He/She will represent the Company in front of institutions, industry associations, customers and staff of the area and will personally manage “Institutional” customers.
  • To supervise with the KAM, the selection, the objectives to achieve in his/her Area, aligned with the strategic lines of the Company, designing and developing the actions that will lead to its achievement.
  • He/She supervises the assignment of customers to the KAM and Sales Application Specialist (SAS) in his/her area.
  • He/She approves the economic offers within the marked limits of profitability.
  • He/She ensures the coordination of the different BU in the Area.
  • He/She supports the marketing team by giving suggestions and feedback regarding the participation in 3rd party Scientific Events.
  • He/She will be the liaison between the marketing team and Healthcare/HCP Associations and Scientific Societies when required.
  • He/She controls the service level offered by the different departments of the Company in his Area (Sales Network, Service and Supply Chain), proposing the necessary corrective measures.

As People Manager,

  • He/She has to create and maintain an appropriate atmosphere for the team to meet, and even exceed, commercial targets.
  • He/She has to maintain a high level of team commitment, encouraging teamwork & cross-collaboration
  • He/She manages performance and talent development processes, proposes the salary conditions of the members of his/her team to the GM, manages the recruitment proces, according to the Role of the Manager in Werfen.
  • Together with the different BUs, he/she ensures the right level of training is provided to the different members of the team.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Education: Bachelor Degree in Science or BA. MBA valuable.
  • Experience: Experience with public procurement laws and processes in Portugal. Experience in IVD Market.
  • Additional skills: People management skills. Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, SAP).
  • Languages: Portuguese, Spanish & English
