Overview
As a Data Analyst Senior, you will design, develop, and deploy robust analytical solutions to support key business decisions. You will leverage your expertise in SQL, Excel, Python, and Power BI to transform complex data into actionable insights, build scalable data models, and create compelling visualizations that empower business stakeholders.
You will be part of the Global Team responsible for building and maintaining global facts and dimensions that will serve as a standardized foundation for analytics across the organization.
Under the general direction of the Technical Leader and senior personnel, with moderate latitude for self-direction, work closely with data engineers, BI analysts, and product owners to deliver fast, efficient, and scalable data intelligence solutions for Werfen employees.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
Among others, you will:
- Work with the team and business stakeholders to identify requirements, define models, and kickstart new analytics initiatives.
- Develop and maintain complex, scalable data models with SQL and Python within our enterprise data platform.
- Have deep knowledge of datasets within the data platform, serving as subject matter expert for data availability, lineage, and quality. Provide guidance to stakeholders regarding data assets and usage.
- Select and apply appropriate dimensional modeling techniques to support business reporting needs
- Champion, promote, and practice data modeling best practices, code quality, and documentation.
- Works with limited oversight of the technical leader.
Networking/Key relationships
It is critical to be able to build relationships based on trust within the organization as the function is to respond to the internal customer needs while taking into consideration the overall corporate strategy.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role in a large company, with experience from multiple projects.
- Experience with modern Data Warehouse architecture approaches, including both Inmon's Corporate Information Factory and Kimball's dimensional modeling methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, data wrangling, and process automation, using core libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and visualization tools.
- Advanced SQL including window functions, CTEs, and query optimization.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, power pivot, advanced excel functions, and basic VBA for simple automation.
- Experience in Power BI, Qlik or other dashboarding software.
- Experience developing, testing, and deploying data transformation pipelines using dbt.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality, structured documentation that supports clarity, alignment, and long‑term maintainability.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- AWS, Microsoft Azure cloud computing, or similar
- Familiarity with DataOps principles
- Familiar with Agile methodologies
- Git software versioning
- Familiarity with Prefect for workflow orchestration
- Familiarity with SAP SD and FI modules, as well as basic understanding of ABAP
- Familiarity with key finance KPIs to perform data modeling, automation, and analytical workflows
