Position Summary

The Product Specialist plays a key role in supporting the promotion and enhancing the value of Werfen solutions for the Hemostasis Business Line.

Within the Marketing Team of the Business Line, he/she implements a specific marketing plan for the local market and ensures continuous support to the Sales Department both in the pre-sales and post-sales activities for the achievement of the business goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supports the Sales Specialists in the installation of new products during the launch phase
  • Takes care of the pre-sales planning of complex projects, collaborating with the Product Manager
  • Supports the whole sales process to define the most suitable technical solution to be presented to the Customer by sharing the preventive design with the other company functions involved, both of a strategic and design nature
  • Prepares technical reports to participate in tenders and to submit offers
  • Monitors the Company’s image, collect the customer's needs and evaluate the actions of the competition for the products of its competence
  • Produces and keep updated the technical documentation relating to the systems of competence
  • Ensures continuous training of the Sales force for the products within its competence
  • Carries out product promotion activities with customers and potential customers, alongside the Area Sales Manager and Service Specialists
  • Collaborates in gathering data on competitors and market needs in order to improve product positioning and penetration
  • Collaborates in reviewing the price list
  • Actively participate in meetings with the Sales Force and Customer Service with the aim of developing their product skills
  • Makes visits to customers alongside the Area Sales Manager and Service Specialists for the collection of information and for the resolution of technical / specialist second level issues
  • Actively participate in scientific days / events (seminars, local days) to strengthen the Company’s image and promote products in the areas of expertise.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Medical Technology, Engineering or similar (e.g. Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, etc.)


  • Experience
    • At least 2-year experience in the same position within an IVD Company working in an international context
