Overview

Position Summary:

 

This Product Manager position is part of the Worldwide Marketing Department based in Bedford (MA) and is responsible for the development and implementation of the global product strategy and associated marketing programs.  This Product Manager will focus on Werfen’s Hemostasis Laboratory Automation Solution, working in coordination with R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, as well as with affiliates commercial teams.  We are looking for someone passionate about continuous improvement and lean methodologies, workflow optimization within our clients Hemostasis section, who can have major impact in the growing success of our dedicated Hemostasis Laboratory Automation solution. 

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

 

Prepare and coordinate marketing support programs related to hemostasis lab automation: 

  • Understand laboratory testing, related workflow and best practices to optimize workflow and overall Hemostasis section performance 
  • Build and maintain relationships with Affiliate Marketing and Sales to help them understand technical processes, and how to best leverage consulting through the sales cycle 
  • Develop key messages, tactical/strategic marketing plans/tools / activities, and communicate product positioning. 
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of the market and competition. 
  • Contribute to the planning and creation of analytical tools, advertising and promotional materials. Write technical bulletins and newsletters. 
  • Support hemostasis lab automation sales, efficiency of team deployment, associate engagement, talent development and implementation of strategic initiatives.   
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Internal Networking/Key Relationships

Key marketing interface with R&D, Operations and QA/RA 

Serve as a Global Consultant for Hemostasis Lab Automation solutions.

  • Liaise with internal and external partners to address product issues, coordinate feedback with countries and customers around product lifecycle related topics and identify process improvements along the value chain.

    • Demonstrated competencies in areas of continuous improvement/lean methodologies, process analysis, laboratory operations, data management and analytics, automation system integration and implementation are strongly desired. 
    • Excellent customer-facing presence, presentation and communication skills 
    • Knowledge of Excel as an analytics platform for large data sets 

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Knowledge in Life Sciences:  Medical Technology, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science, business administration or marketing discipline, or equivalent.  Prior experience in junior marketing product management positions
  • Minimum three years' experience in sales and/or marketing within the healthcare industry

Prefered Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree Science, Medical Technology or related scientific discipline or degree in business administration, marketing or equivalent required 
  • Minimum of five years related experience in IVD (clinical or sales) required 
  • Experience working with/calling on Lab, or other clinical areas  
  • Experience using lean methodology and analytics, they accomplish measurable business process improvement

  • Approximately 25% of time
