Overview
Position Summary:
Plans and controls inventory of finished goods for warehouses/distribution centers and manufacturing plants to meet sales and distribution demand. Analyzes inventory levels, planned production, and sales forecasts. Develops/maintains inputs to computerized inventory management system.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Under general supervision, plans and coordinates inventory replenishment with strategic partners
- Provides manufacturing plants with forecast requirements, requisite purchase orders and inter-plant orders.
- Analyzes inventory levels and inventory positioning to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for meeting annual goals for inventory levels of finished goods product.
- Projects and minimizes scrap exposure by identifying issues and proposing solutions.
- Coordinates shipments to strategic partners, including drop shipments, replenishment, and lot- management.
- Monitors forecast and safety stock levels, and adjusts accordingly.
- Maintains frequent communications with strategic partners on a variety of subjects, including order information, material availability, recalls, and shipping issues.
- Coordinates purchase orders and sales orders for drop shipments to customers.
- Works closely with International and Business Administration to support customer base effectively.
- Reviews stocking orders with strategic partners for product availability and scheduled ship dates.
- Allocates shelf life products for shipment to ensure that they satisfy the contract minimum dating requirement.
- Projects monthly shipments to strategic partners in terms of products, quantities, and dollars.
- Coordinates shipments with IL shipping operations.
- Develops and maintains inputs to computerized inventory management system.
- Reviews and adjusts, when necessary, forecast information at the finished goods level.
- Communicates with marketing, manufacturing, and European distribution (when required) to introduce new products into inventory.
- Coordinates material transfers from manufacturing to distribution locations, ensuring that quantities do not exceed total demand and that the material has adequate shelf life remaining to meet the needs of our customers and minimize company exposure to potential scrap.
- Prepares and distributes numerous weekly/monthly status reports relating to backorders, reagent planning, and similar subjects.

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
- Working knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures, material planning, and distribution systems, typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in management.
- A minimum of three years of experience in similar or preparatory work required
- Previous experience with computerized inventory/distribution management systems, preferably SAP

The annual salary range Werfen reasonably expects to pay for the position is $85,000 to $105,000. Compensation is reasonably based upon multiple factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and specific needs of the business.
