Overview
IT Senior Analyst Programmer (Instrumentation Laboratory Company, a Werfen Company, Bedford, Massachusetts): On behalf of a worldwide developer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialized diagnostic instruments for hemostasis, acute care, and autoimmunity products and services, will analyze the business needs of users and design information systems and applications. Will program, test, and implement programs and train system users under supervision of the IT Development Manager.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Discuss business needs and procedures with users of assigned functional areas.
- Analyze and generate functional specifications for information systems.
- Prepare technical design documentation based on the analysis of business functions.
- Design program flow charts, data fields, and database tables, as well as other documentation which may be required.
- Program modifications, new custom transactions, utilities, and reports. Conduct program tests and correct any program errors.
- With the support of the supervisor, perform system tests of the application developed.
- Prepare end user documentation. Establish training programs and provide training for end users.
- Guide Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineers through validation of the developed program.
- Communicate with IT Quality Assurance (QA) Testers to coordinate quality testing of the software.
- Supervise the development and documentation of controls for the detection and prevention of security breaches and to ensure the security of data and communications services.
- Participate in conversations with key systems users for the assigned tasks that are required to clarify user requirements and provide training, support, and problem resolution.
- Regularly communicate with a wide range of users requiring clear and effective communication skills to ensure effective outcome of the development effort.
- Ensure compliance with the security policies established for the acquisition, design, development, operation, administration, and maintenance of production systems, operating systems, control of networks and communication systems, databases, and related technological resources of the Company.
This is a hybrid position permitted to work 3 days/week from the office in Bedford, MA and 2 days/week from a home office within normal commuting distance to the Bedford, MA office.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field and 4 years of experience as a SAP Application Developer or related technical role developing SAP reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements and designing databases within the medical device or healthcare sector.
Must also have had (I) 3 years of experience (which can have been gained concurrently with the primary experience requirement above) with: (a) SAP PP; (b) Using dialog programming including SAP ABAP data dictionary and CDS views; (c) SAP S4/HANA; (d) SAP ABAP module; (e) Lifecycle Adobe forms; and (f) Integration of SAP with third party software; (II) Background designing and developing applications for medical devices in SAP Fiori using SAPUIS and SAP Web IDE; (III) Expertise in converting business requirements to technical specifications; (IV) Well-developed analytical skills; (V) Effective verbal and written communication skills in individual and group settings; and (VII) Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and track record meeting deadlines.
The annual base salary range for this role is currently $154,606 to $159,606 range. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.

Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management, and select professional roles, are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
