Overview
Position summary
The IT Ops Functional Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Werfen's IT solutions aimed at managing Clinical Laboratories, specifically the Laboratory Computer System and the Advanced Data Analysis System based on BI technology. Among his/her duties are the system's configuration and adaptation to the Laboratory's workflows, as well as ensuring interoperability with Hospital Information Systems and Laboratory Equipment. Once the system has been implemented, he/she will also be responsible for its functional maintenance, guaranteeing the customer a high level of service.
The IT Ops Functional Specialist reports to the IT Ops Area Manager and he/she can assume the role of Project Manager within an implementation project or that of a reference for an installation or client.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
The IT Ops Functional Specialist has the following main responsibilities:
•Implement the IT solutions, while ensuring compliance with the best practices in the assigned role.
•Provide functional capacitation to costumers in the use of our different products.
•Maintain an assertive communication with the customer and the team.
•Provide remote and on-site technical, operational and application-related support to customers, assisting them with the integration of the IT solutions in their laboratories.
•Analyse the processes associated with the Laboratory and promote improvements within the technological area.
•Work closely with the IT Help-Line and IT Product Support teams.
•Report on the activity carried out, within the time frame set in the Style Guide.
•Remain up-to-date on the various technology tools and products.
•The Project Manager/Project Leader is also responsible for the following:
- Plan and coordinate the project's tasks and actions, ensuring the performance of all the activities required to implement and maintain the system by regularly checking the status of the tasks and actions.
- Detect and communicate to the customer any risks that could lead to deviations in the achievement of the set objectives
- Interact with the customer at all levels of project management to resolve independently any conflicts/problems.
- Ensure that the project's relevant technical documentation is up-to-date and available to the entire team.
•Ensure compliance with company regulations and Quality policies.
•Ensure compliance with the Corporate Code of Ethics.
Key internal relationships
They will be defined according to the department's needs, and they will include the following interactions:
•Fluid relationship with all the roles in the BU Healthcare IT Solutions, as well as with the Help-Line support team.
•Effective communication with the development team through the product specialist.
•Fluid relationship with Area Managers, Key Account Managers and Sales Application Specialist
at Werfen Spain and Portugal.
Qualifications
Minimum knowledge and experience required for the position
Education:
•Bachelor's degree or simliar in Health Sciences like Medicine, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, etc.
•Clinical Specialist in Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Chemistry. Microbiology, Immunology, Haematology or Clinical Pathology.
•Mid-level vocational training in Laboratory Technician or High level vocational training in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory Technician.

•In the management of the structure of Clinical Laboratories, as well as in the definition of the associated global processes.
•Additional skills/knowledge:
•Project Manager Professional Certification
•Knowledge of interoperability platforms
•Knowledge of BI tools, particularly QlikSense
Languages:
•Fluent English is recommended
•Spanish and/or Portuguese

Travel requirements:
•Within the job's Location Area: Up to 65% of the annual working time
•Within the scope of Spain/Portugal: Up to 30% of the annual working time
•Type-B driving licence is required
