Overview

Summary

Manager of a small team of 6-8 IT Analyst Programmers who develop new products and features, and provide suport at the same time, for Werfen products only. Environment of very collaborative, humble and high-capacity team, including a Principal Analyst Programmer. The teams can also incluse external full-remote members (1 or 2).

 

 


 

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

Leads the development effort in a specific business area of a major software installation project, under the supervision and with the support of Senior Management.

Meets with users of assigned functional areas to discuss business needs and procedures. Analyzes and generates functional specifications for information systems.

Listens to user needs, evaluates them, and advises his/her Supervisor on modification requests. Participates with the Senior Management team in deciding priority and time spent on program development.

Performs feasibility studies on the design and development of programs using existing business procedures and considering the computer system’s capabilities.

Analyses and interprets software specifications to determine if a program can be developed to satisfy the user’s needs. Recommends and advises his/her Supervisor to determine if suggested modifications should be implemented.

Prepares technical design documentation based on his/her analysis of business functions. Designs program flow charts, data fields and database tables, as well as other documentation, which may be required.

Responsible for the leadership of team of Analyst Programmers:

– Supervises the assigned development team and distributes the assigned work to the team members.

– Establishes training programs and provides training for members of the team, or recommends training sessions from external providers.

– Responsible to balance work load between the members of the team.

– Evaluates performance of the employees on the team, and conducts annual performance evaluations for these employees.

Prepares end user documentation. Establishes training programs and provides training for users.

Is responsible for program modifications, new custom transactions, utilities and reports. Conducts program tests and corrects any program errors. Performs system tests with the participation of the lead computer users of those business applications included in his/her area of responsibility.

Supervise the development and documentation of controls for the detection and prevention of security breaches (for instance unauthorized access, protection against malicious software) and to ensure the security of data and communications services.

Ensure compliance with the security policies established for the acquisition, design, development, operation, administration and maintenance of production systems, operating systems, control of networks and communication systems, databases and related technological resources of Werfen.

 

Networking/Key relationships:

Manages projects assigned by IT Development Director or IT Senior Director.

Supports IT Organization Analysts in definition of user requirements and coordination of user training.

Acting as a subject matter expert for defined functional areas, regularly participates in meetings with the IT Development Director, IT Organization Analysts or IT Senior Director.

Communicates with IT QA Testers to coordinate quality testing of the software.

Regularly meets with key systems users to clarify user requirements, review prototypes, provide training, provide support and problem resolution.

Others to be determined based on department needs.

Qualifications

MUST points:

•Full proficiency in English (meetings with native people, presentations, calls, internal meetings, etc).

5+ years experience in People Management.

5+ years experience in Projects Management (web/app projects),

o Acustomed to Agile (Scrum)).

5+ years experience in web applications development.

o Solid understanding of IT systems and software development (e.g., architecture, coding practices, DevOps, cloud platforms).

o Demonstrated knowledge of Symfony, PHP, mySQL or mariaDB, React/Redux, Electronjs, Nodejs, Linux, Docker.

o Familiar with auth and identity protocols such as OAuth 2.0 or SAML.

o Proficient with Hexagonal Architecture, SOLID principles, Domain Drivent Development.

•High communication and listening skills.

•Organized

•Bachelor's degree in a technical field; engineering or computer science background

•3 days per week at the office

•Working hours MON-THU 09:00-13:00 + 14:00-18:30, FRI 08:00-14:00

Availability to travel if needed, but not frequently (Mainly to USA).

WISH points:

•Proficient with Jenkins, GitHub.

•Experience with a Project Management Toola (specially ServiceNow).

•Knowledge of Drupal, .NET, Playwright, Kubernettes, AWS, ECMAScript 6

•Back-end knowledge of Drush, Composer, Configuration Management, Workflows to support flexible, component-based authoring experiences.

•Experience in fullstack (Doctrine, Http Foundation, Dependency Injection, Messenger, Mailer &Twig) development with Symfony 5/6.

•Understanding modern Javascript (Promises, arrow functions, destructuring, spread, etc).
