Overview
With a strong passion for designing and implementing robust, secure, and scalable network solutions, the Senior Network Engineer with join a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will contribute in driving innovation and excellence in our network infrastructure to support our organization's growth and success.
As a Senior Network Lead, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise network infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our network environment, enabling seamless communication and connectivity for our organization.
Reporting into the Head of Digital Infrastructure & Cloud Services your role will be to lead, support and develop the Global Connectivity & Network Security team & services for Werfen.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Network Design and Architecture:
- Design and implement network architectures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks, to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend network design enhancements and optimization opportunities.
- Network Implementation and Configuration:
- Configure and deploy network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points, following best practices and security standards.
- Collaborate with system administrators and other IT teams to integrate network solutions with existing infrastructure and applications.
- Network Security:
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPN technologies, to safeguard against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address potential security risks and compliance issues.
- Network Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
- Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability using network monitoring tools and utilities.
- Troubleshoot network issues, analyze performance data, and implement optimization measures to enhance network performance and efficiency.
- Incident Response and Problem Management:
- Lead the resolution of network-related incidents and service disruptions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Conduct root cause analysis for network issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Documentation and Standards Compliance:
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to network infrastructure and security.
- Capacity Planning and Scalability:
- Perform capacity planning for network resources and bandwidth requirements based on business growth projections and usage patterns.
- Recommend and implement scalable solutions to accommodate the organization's expanding network infrastructure needs.

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
- Master degree in Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a network engineer or in a similar role, designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with network equipment and technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, Aruba, and Fortinet.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, CISSP, or relevant vendor certifications are highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and take decisions in alignment with management.
- People-, customer- and service-oriented mindset.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and oral), at ease interacting with management.
Skills & Capabilities:
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and network security principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Travel requirements:
Occasional travel required to main Werfen locations or based on project requirements.
