JOB DESCRIPTION: Financial Controller

 

Job Summary
Prepares Commercial, Financial and expense reporting information. Performs financial analysis and participates in special projects for the organization and the strategic business units.  Contributes with financial and strategic support to various business teams.

 

Key Accountabilities
•    Prepare monthly commercial reports to compare actual sales to budget and growth over prior year with explanations of foreign exchange effects.
•    Prepare financial analysis of sales statistics including business unit, product type, geographic region, etc.
•    Prepare monthly financial analysis of operating expenses and margins, with explanations of variances between actual and budgeted data.
•    Assist with profitability analysis for new instrument placements.
•    Keeps proper control of the fixed assets and Reagent Rentals of the affiliate, including analysis of profitability and authorizations
•    Assist in the annual company budget and forecast preparation.
•    Maintain records for rebates offered to customers and generate reports for customer records.
•    Coordinates conditions with customers (payment terms, limit of credit, discounts, etc.)
•    Reconciliation of service contracts on a quarterly basis to determine active coverage for instruments placed.
•    Perform ad hoc analysis as needed. Other duties may be assigned.
•    Establishes and maintains appropriate internal controls and safeguards   
•    Gives support to the Financial and General manager and all line managers
•    Proposes and leads initiatives to minimize expenses and maximize profit 

 

Networking/Key relationships
To be determined based on department needs, to include interactions such as:
•    Cooperation with all the department managers of the affiliate as well as with Corporate back office departments (IT, Logistic, Taxes, Controlling, etc.)  to ensure complete information and analysis

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
•    Education: BA in Business with emphasis on Accounting and Finance Master’s Degree in Business / Financial Management strongly preferred.
•    Experience: Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a Finance department in an International environment of a multinational company
•    Additional Skills/Knowledge: 
     - Strong working knowledge of concepts and practices of accounting and financial reporting for a mid / big sized company and managing teams.
     - Proficient computer skills (MS Office and SAP)
     - Fluency in English is a must, basic oral Spanish is strongly preferred.
