Overview

The Director of IT Salesforce & CRM Solutions is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise CRM strategy, with Salesforce as the core platform. This role leads the architecture, development, integration, and optimization of CRM solutions that support sales, marketing, customer service, and other customer-facing functions. The Director partners closely with business leaders to ensure CRM capabilities drive measurable business outcomes, scalability, and exceptional user experience.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Define and own the enterprise CRM vision, roadmap, and governance model.
  • Serve as the executive-level owner of the Salesforce platform and related CRM technologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of CRM product managers, administrators, developers, and analysts.
  • Establish best practices for platform management, DevOps, security, and data governance.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Service, and Operations leaders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable CRM solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on CRM capabilities, innovations, and process improvements.
  • Drive user adoption through strong change management, training strategies, and communication.
  • Oversee architecture, configuration, customization, and integration of Salesforce and related tools.
  • Ensure reliable integration between Salesforce and enterprise systems (ERP, data warehouse, marketing automation, etc.).
  • Manage vendor relationships, implementation partners, and third-party applications.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Own platform performance, availability, release management, and ongoing optimization.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure CRM effectiveness (e.g., adoption, data quality, cycle time, customer experience).
  • Manage budget, resource planning, and prioritization of initiatives across the CRM portfolio.
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases and emerging CRM technologies to continuously evolve capabilities.

 

Networking/Key relationships

  • Actively engage with senior business leaders to understand priorities and shape the CRM roadmap.
  • Maintain strong internal networks across IT domains (Enterprise Architecture, Data, Security, Infrastructure, Applications).
  • Build external networks with Salesforce, implementation partners, system integrators, and technology vendors.
  • Participate in professional communities (e.g., Salesforce community groups, industry forums, conferences) to stay current on trends and innovations.
  • Constand contact with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Service Leaders, to ensure solutions support revenue growth and customer experience goals.
  • Engaging with IT Leadership (Architecture, Data, Security, Infrastructure, PMO) to align with enterprise standards and technology strategy.

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in CRM, Salesforce, or enterprise business applications.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing managers.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Salesforce architecture and ecosystem.
  • Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional technology programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Certified Technical Architect, Application Architect, System Architect, Platform Developer, Administrator).
  • Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and product operating models.
  • Experience with large-scale integrations, data platforms, and analytics.

Travel requirements:

10-15% (Flexible, as required by business needs).
