About the Position

Job Summary

Direct responsibility in marketing and selling an array of laboratory products and applications to a wide variety of accounts (Academic, Biotech, Pharmaceutical and Industrial) across the Southern part of Portugal. Is also responsible to find and convert new opportunities and develop and maintain relationships with customers. Cultivating an opportunity requires following a well-defined sales process, and elevating discussions to an application scientist when required.  After closing a sale, the technical Key Account Manager is also expected to maintain a communication channel with the user, providing post-sale assistance and connecting the user with a technical support engineer when required. Responsibilities also include costumer’s technical training and support providing product post-sale training and first use support.

 

Key Accountabilities

·Maximise sales potential, services and business growth to customers within Health and Biotechnology market

·Achieve growth and hit sales targets

·Search for new clients and identifying potential customers who might benefit from company products or services and maximising client potential in my designated region

·Promote sales to existing clients

·Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements, providing both pre and after-sales advice and showing how our products and services can satisfy the client´s needs

·Provide advice and support on the company’s range of products, for which a certain level of expertise is needed, providing customers relevant information about the products and services the company provides

·Make technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs

·Perform scientific instrumentation product demonstrations to prospective end user

·Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education, as well as after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required

·Develop proposals for sales presentations and explaining the technical aspects of our offerings

·Negotiate proposal terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs and closing deals

·Periodically check up on clients to see how current installations are working and to offer additional services and products

·Perform written and oral reports on costumer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities and potential for new products and services

·Solve after sales technical problems and provide ongoing support

·Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with clients’ needs

·Arranging and carrying out product training in coordination with the Market Manager and Marketing

·Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events

·Perform regular updates to our CRM database to manage opportunities

·Ensures compliance with Werfen Code of Ethics

 

Networking/Key relationships

This position requires cooperating with several departments within the company, including interactions with:

·Market Manager

·Sales Manager

·Product Managers

·Technical Service Department

·Commercial Technical Specialists and Technical Support Team

·Contracting Department

·Other company departments (mainly Operations, IT and Logistics)

 

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:

·Position requires a BS degree in a related science field, to include Biology, Biochemistry or Medical Technology

·BSc/MS degree in Sales, Business Administration or relevant field is a plus

·Successful previous experience as a sales representative, consistently meeting or exceeding targets

·Effective and influential communication skills

·Must have high energy, initiative, be a self-starter, be very self-motivated, and creative

·Able to build cooperative relationships and work as a team

·Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and other corporate tools.

·Language: Portuguese, Spanish and English

·Availability to travel as needed

·Must communicate very well in spoken and written English (additional languages are a plus)
